Extracurriculars seminar

FSI understands the difficulties that high schools students may face when looking to expand their interests and learning. Especially for newer students, the newfound freedom to pursue their own interests can be a shock. In order to prepare for the upcoming school year, the First Spark Institute hosted 5 guest speakers, ranging from incoming college freshmen from UT Austin and MIT to senior high school students, for a high school activities seminar dedicated to helping introduce younger high school students to different avenues of potential extracurricular activities. These activities encompasses a wide variety of paths such as fine arts, public speaking, and STEM related topics which gave an enhanced perspectives into the lifestyles and commitments that each type of activity takes.
